Description:

The Customer Service Manager is the point person for the sales region responsible for managing all aspects of the SAP Sales and Distribution module (SD). The Manager’s primary focus is to streamline the organization’s sales and distribution process to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve customer satisfaction.  Also responsible for establishing customer payment terms, preparing quotes, entering orders, and invoicing customers.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Ensures efficient processing and communication within the Customer Service group.
  • Trains new Customer Service employees.
  • Analyzes response times to customer requests.
  • Performs credit checks on new and existing customers. Analyzes and evaluates customer credit worthiness and assigns specific payment terms (e.g., NET 30, NET 60, cash in advance, 50% down, etc.).
  • Prepares and sends price quotations to Technical Sales Representatives and customers in an accurate and timely fashion. Approves discounts on instrument pricing based on corporate policy.
  • Analyzes and determines the appropriate method of shipping instruments and parts (by air, rail or road) to meet customer needs.
  • Ensures the accurate coordination of information in SAP and CRM.
  • Works with Material Management on customer returns and with the Accounting Manager on customer credits.
  • Determines the best method of shipping instruments and parts by investigating freight costs and transit times, and weighing the relative costs and benefits of each.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in finance, accounting, economics or business administration.
  • 3 years of related experience with SAP (or similar) software.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Good verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
