    Description:

    The Field Service Engineer provides on-site service including preventative maintenance, calibration, installation, and training across all product lines. This position can be based anywhere in Northern California. 

    Responsibilities & Qualifications

    •  
    • Maintain and support Anton Paar instruments. 
    • Develop and maintain positive customer relationships based on trust and confidence.
    • Recognize when field service issues need to be escalated and take appropriate action.
    • Document service, installation and maintenance calls with complete reports.
    • Maintain sound knowledge of technology and understand customers’ applications.
    • Provide sales department with potential leads.
    • Follow company policies, procedures and safety regulations.
    • BS/BA in Chemistry, Biology, or Science degree. Physics and Electronic degrees will also be considered.
    • Routine maintenance and calibration experience on analytical instrumentation.
    • Strong organizational skills and fluent with MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint .
    • Prior exposure to Material Science applications in Powders or Porous materials characterization is a plus.
    • Knowledge of PC operating systems and basic computer networks. Proven ability to set up a local network.
    • Analytical mindset and drive to resolve open issues with detailed accomplishments
    • Ability to perform complex system level troubleshooting using electronic support equipment.
    • Proven ability to read and comprehend detailed Electrical and Electronic Schematics.
    • Experience working with Low and High Pressure instrumentation and Vacuum Systems with emphasis on analytical techniques.
    • Experience working with Temperature and PID controllers that control laboratory furnaces and heating devices.
